Fiber optic adapters are typically designed to connect two fiber optic patch cables together. Anetfiber’s attenuators are used when there is a need to reduce or balance the power of light transmitted from one device to another device. This SC Female to FC Female Singlemode Fiber Attenuator is used to reduce the optical power of your fiber line to a desired fixed level. This attenuator will reduce the optical power in your line by 10dBs. To install, simply plug your fiber cable connector into the attenuator and then plug that directly into your optical system. It is suitable for both 1310nm and 1550nm operations and is available in several dB increments to fit your installation needs. This attenuator utilizes a UPC (Ultra Physical Contact) polish which provides a better surface finish with less back reflection.
